Welcome to August! Another month, another massive Operation Supply Drop video game care package announcement. Only this one’s a little different! Read on…
Care package, code name: DRAGON PUNCH, is being named in honor of our new friend Seth Killian over at Capcom who donated so generously towards our last care package, GREASE GUN. This care package is being built for Ryan, a Blackhawk MEDEVAC (Medical Evacuation) pilot and his eclectic crew of support staff, hanging out in Northern Afghanistan.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
First let me say thank you for reading this, because that means you are supportive of us and that is greatly appreciated. My name is XXX Ryan XXXXXX and I am a UH60 Blackhawk Pilot/Instructor Pilot by trade. I have been on Active duty in the Army now for 13 years, but not all of them as a Pilot. I started out as a M1Abrams Armor Crew member or Tanker. I have been to many places, such as, Iraq, Korea (multiple times), but this is my first time to Afghanistan. Currently, I am in a unit that consists of personnel from lots of other units put together in a support role here in Afghanistan. We come from all walks of life: Active Duty, Reservists, and National Guard. We are a support organization responsible for the northern part of Afghanistan. We travel all over Afghanistan providing direct support to the War Fighters.
At least a few days a week I go to the MEDEVAC unit and fly for them to relieve some of their guys, who are flying a lot and could use a break. I am writing this on behalf of some of the greatest people I have had the pleasure to serve with. We work long hours and don’t have a way of really getting together and doing something other than work. We have a great group of people here and would love to have some stuff that we could sit down and relax with. I feel some of these games would allow us to come together as a group and have some good old friendly competitions. But nevertheless, these would allow us to take our minds off of what we are doing long enough to recharge our batteries for the next day so we can get up and do it all again. The list that was provided is long, but it was me just asking the guys and gals what games they would be interested in if I was able to get some. So, I am not asking for everything (although that would be wonderful), but anything we can get to play and relax a little would be great.
Thank you again in advance for what you are doing to help us!
Damn, doesn’t that make you just want to hand your wallet to this guy? Well, buckle up, because here is Ryan’s monstrous wish list.

Phew. Well, being patriotic only goes so far, how do we plan on funding a third simultaneous care package for August?
No worries…we’ve called for reinforcements! The good folks over at GameCrush.com are looking to help us support the troops and help fill this package with digital goodness. They are simultaneously announcing they are donating a percentage of every credit earned on their site to build this specific, GameCrush sponsored care package!
Want to help us help the troops? Simply click on the Chipin link on the right hand side of the page and make a donation! Any amount will help tremendously, whether it’s buying a video game, helping fund the purchase of a console, or even paying the absurdly expensive shipping costs! Again, want to thank everyone involved in making this happen, and keep on drivin’ on! There’s still a whole lot of deployed folks in need of some good ol’ fashion video gamin’!
We are also running a little side gig as well: you donate over $30 to the cause, we give you back 1600 Microsoft Points ($20). Are you absolutely kidding me? You can’t beat that deal. You were going to buy those points anyway for Bastion or From Dust, now you can make a tax deductable contribution to our care package!
