THQ has announced the release of the 90′s arcade classic WWE WrestleFest in the app store.
THQ has recreated the 2-D experience for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The game features current WWE Superstars, WWE Legends, an extensive DLC program, Road to WrestleMania progression play and multiplayer functionality. WWE WrestleFest ia available to download now on the US app store for $2.99 on iPhone and $3.99 on the iPad.
The roster includes:
- John Cena
- The Rock
- Randy Orton
- Rey Mysterio
- “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
- Undertaker
- Jake “The Snake” Roberts
- “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Match types will include Royal Rumble, Tag Team, Gauntlet and Steel Cage, competing in famous arenas like Raw, SmackDown, WrestleMania and Saturday Night’s Main Event. Players will be encouraged to select their WWE Superstar or WWE Legend and go on to compete in a number of challenges to win 5 different WWE Championships, in a Road to WrestleMania progression-stlye mode. Wireless connectivity through Apple Game Center will allow players to issue multiplayer challenges.
Following launch, 30 additional WWE Superstars and WWE Legends will be released, as well as new arenas via the DLC program. The items that are currently scheduled for future release include:
- WWE Superstars CM Punk, Triple H and Sheamus
- WWE Legends Shawn Michaels and Big Boss Man
- The classic Survivor Series arena
THQ have also announced that WWE WrestleFest is in development for additional platforms includin Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, Android and PC.
