Capcom: Steel Battalion Demo is out today!

That’s right boy’s and girls, Capcom announced today that their Vertical Tank (It’s not a Mech) shooter, Steel Battalion, is available for download on Xbox Live.

Today sees the playable demo for Steel Battalion Heavy Armor hit Xbox LIVE. Experience the true feeling of war by taking control of a Vertical Tank and getting introduced to your fellow crew members in the first two levels of the game. A Kinect for Xbox 360 exclusive, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is set for release on June 19th in North America and on June 22nd across Europe.

For those of you that don’t know Steel Battalion is set in 2082 in a future without computers. Your are Sgt. Powers, the pilot of a VT (Vertical Tank) in the battle to regain the United States from Chinese occupation. These are not – repeat – they are not Mechs, this is a low-tech future where there is one weapon class that will determine the course of the war – the Vertical Tank.

The best thing about this game is the use of the traditional Xbox controller and the Kinect sensor. You will control the VT’s movement and guns with the controller and use hand or even your body motions to flip switches, throw levers, and drag team mates back to the VT.

Steel Battalion is set to be released on June 19.
