Turtle Beach Stormed E3 with Three Big Announcements.

Turtle Beach, the well-known developer of gaming headsets, has announced an overwhelming plethora of new units for just about everything ever. I remember just a few years ago when I heard of Turtle Beach and thought they were the people who made Left 4 Dead (that was Turtle Rock). Now, I can’t throw a rock at a group who use gaming headsets and not hit a Turtle Beach user (they don’t like me throwing rocks at them though).

The biggest news in this announcement by far is that they have developed a licensing agreement with Nintendo to manufacture headsets for the Wii U to be ready by launch. These proposed headsets will also be able to connect to the 3DS and DS.

“We are very excited to be working with Turtle Beach to launch new gaming headsets for Wii U,” said Steve Singer, Vice President of Licensing, Nintendo of America Inc.

Turtle Beach has also teamed up with Activision in order to release a special line of “Ear Force” headsets for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The “Tango” is the top-of-the-line wireless offering, and is fully customizable, coming in at $299.99.The “Sierra” is the next, specially made for pro tournaments and competitive play, coming in at $279.99. The “X-Ray” is made for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and comes in at $199.99. The “Kilo” is an affordable stereo headset, coming in at $79.99, and the “Earebuds” are premium headphones for whatever you would like for $69.99. “Turtle Beach is honored to be working with Treyarch and Activision on a line of new headsets for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” said Bob Picunko, Chief Marketing Officer at Turtle Beach. “Whether you are a hardcore multiplayer gamer or a casual mobile player, the goal in the development of these new headsets is to allow the player to hear the game the way the developer intended.”

Along with all the special headsets, Turtle Beach debuted a few new products at E3 to their “Ear Force” line. The “M7″ is the latest headset to the M-series of mobile gaming headsets. The “ZLa” is a PC and Mac headset with in-line volume controls. The “PLa” and “XLa” are PS3 and Xbox 360 USB headsets respectively that include a microphone monitor to allow you to hear your own voice. Pricing and availability dates will be announced soon.
If you’re looking for a gaming headset, Turtle Beach is one of the most well-known names in the business, and these new headsets should definitely be considered.
