Kingdom Hearts 3D Will Be Available in the 3DS eShop

The physical vs. digital debate, in a nutshell.

According to a recent announcement, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be available digitally in the 3DS eShop in addition to its physical retail presence. There is no price difference or bonus content when purchasing either version (minus any GameStop incentives, of course), so which version customers choose to purchase comes down to personal taste. In either case, series fans will not have to wait long to play the next entry: Kingdom Hears 3D: Dream Drop Distance hits store shelves and the eShop on July 31 in North America.

KH:3D‘s release comes as part of Nintendo’s push to have more titles available digitally. Other games slated for an eShop release include New Super Mario Bros. 2, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, Scribblenauts Unlimited, and Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion. For those gamers looking to move away from physical media, your chance is coming soon with Nintendo’s digital push.
