If you were paying attention to some of the announcements coming out of E3, you might already know that PowerA was developing cases for the iPhone 4 and 4S that might have caught your geeky eye. The first wave in a limited series of Star Wars inspired cases have been launched from the vendor online and are set to be available through Best Buy on July 22nd. With four now available, two from the Star Wars Collector Case Series and two from the Star Wars Saga Cases collections, it is going to be interesting to see how this series pans out both in sales and durability. The hair on the Chewbacca Collector Case Series does certainly raise a bunch of questions.
According to John Moore, vice presedent of product development and marketing for PowerA, “These are indeed the iPhone cases you are looking for.”
Not all of the cases have been officially announced in the series, but pictures surfacing from E3 lead us to believe that the Collector Case Series will round out with C-3PO and Darth Vader versions. The Saga Cases collection is only limited to the droids and A New Hope poster art at this time, but it seems like more will be coming our way. To the development team for PowerA, I’ll make a quick suggestion. If you are planning to be Jar Jar Binks on any of the cases, you better make it a ruggedized version. Many an iPhone will be thrown in rage.
