Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC Gobbles up 1.9Gb

Mass-Effect-3-extended-cut dlc released

Bioware releases the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC today, in response to the barrage of bitching from gamers the world over about the original ending the game shipped with. As promised, it won’t cost a penny, so regardless of where you sit on the issue of Bioware being beaten down by the fans of the franchise, you too can enjoy the fruits of the grumpy gamers’ labours.

The DLC will be available on all systems today – with the exception of PS3 owners in Europe, who will have to wait until July 4th – and will need a roomy 1.9Gb to make itself at home on your hard drive.

It looks like there won’t be any additional gameplay; instead, if you have already completed the game, a ‘Legend’ save will be created at a point before the assault on the Cerberus base. Load up the game from there and play through to the end again to experience the extra scenes and extended epilogue sequences. These sequences will take into account the players’ decisons across the entire series of the Mass Effect universe, as well as elaborating upon the original endings.
