Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection Coming This Winter

Name a successful game franchise of the early 2000′s, and it’s probably getting an HD remake or collection. We’ve seen everything from Metal Gear Solid and Sly Cooper, to even Halo get the treatment. It’s safe to say that it’s a trend that has no signs of slowing down any time soon. Another trend that we’ve been seeing is the consistent amount of Dragon Ball Z games that get made on an annual basis. But over the years, “true fans” always point out one game in particular as the best – Budokai 3. Lucky for us, the guys at Namco-Bandai are doing their own HD collection, but it’s not as complete as you might think.

Yes, the Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection is coming, but it is incomplete as it seems. While they got the original Budokai and Budokai 3, it just seems odd that they’ve left out Budokai 2. It wasn’t any worse than the original, and to its credit, there were some very interesting what-if stories presented in the game. Also, Infinite World was essentially Budokai 4, so if you wanted to make the end-all, be-all HD package, you should have put these two games in. Like I said, they got Budokai 3, which is the big one, so these are only small complaints.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection only has a vague release date for Europe so far- Winter 2012. Odds are, we’ll see this stateside around the same time, or weeks after. Now we’ll have to wait for the Budokai Tenkaichi HD Collection (which isn’t a thing, sadly).
