We’re mere days away from the always satisfying EVO tournaments, and Capcom’s already dropped a big piece of news on us. Two legendary Capcom fighters, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, are coming to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network for the low, low price of $15.00, with a bit of an arcade-y aesthetic that brings Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online to mind.
For a bit of a history lesson, Marvel Super Heroes took X-Men: Children of the Atom and added a bit more Marvel fluff to the mix, while adding the Infinity Gauntlet story of Marvel fame (been seeing a lot of that lately, huh). The original Marvel vs. Capcom took X-Men vs. Street Fighter and added a larger, expanded roster (hello, Mega Man) and made it the crazy fighter you know today. These titles spurred into Marvel vs. Capcom 2, a celebrated classic, and the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 games, as well. Gotta respect the classics, you know. If only they’d include the old X-Men games.
Marvel vs. Capcom Origins comes out this September, but Capcom is showing the game off at EVO 2012 if you’re in the Las Vegas area (I sure wish I was). No word yet on the actual developer, as Iron Galaxy developed Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online, but it’s sure to be a hit. Now stop bugging them about Mega Man!
