Okay, SO WHAT if Front Towards Gamer’s charity wing, Operation Supply Drop, got written up in the LA Times?  I mean, we only send thousands of dollars in video games care packages to troops in Afghanistan; if they think that’s impressive, they should wait to see what we’ve got in store for this Veterans Day (by the way, it’s totally awesome that they did this, thanks a ton to the lovely miss Noelene Clark (@noeleneclark)  from the LA Times for helping get the word out about the charity)!

So the ORIGINAL plan was to get our FOUR HORSEMEN care package out the door either the day before or the day after the 4th of July.  You know, ‘Merica and the 4th of July, etc, right?  Well, the problem with being a one man Santa’s workshop of video game care packages is that when you come down with a 102 degree fever, production grinds to a halt.

Feeling better Friday, I was able to put together FOUR HORSEMEN and get it in the mail Saturday morning, heading to Afghanistan to Tyler and his platoon of fire-fighting Army engineers!  Here’s the final breakdown (all games are Xbox 360 titles unless otherwise marked):

Wow, totally skated past the two grand mark and didn’t even break a sweat.  These care packages are getting a bit absurd!

Anyway, onto to the next package!

charity, video games, darksiders 2, THQ, Activision, 82nd airborne, Afghanistan, bioware, charity, charity event, charity gaming marathon, counterstrike, counterstrike GO, EA, electronic arts, epic, Epic Games, front towards gamer, FTG, gamer night, Gamernight, gaming charity, gaming marathon, Gears of War 3, global offensive, kalypso, left 4 dead, Mass Effect 3, military charity, operation enduring freedom, operation supply drop, OSD, plantronics, Portal 2, ranger coffee, Valve, video game charity, Video Games, xbox live, robot entertainment, orcs must die, capcom, code name veronica, modern warfare 3, call of duty, skyrim, bethesda, mass effect 3, operation supply drop, glu games, double fine, little geronimo, usama bin laden, osama bin laden, hamza bin laden, four horsemen, darksiders, darksiders 2, death, war, famine, air force, firefighters

Our next care package has been co-opted by the good folks of Epic Games.  You know, the Gears of War/Infinity Blade folks?  Yeah, that’s them.  Anyway, Epic Games is helping to promote our next care package, which we named in their honor: CRIMSON OMEN (the red skull Gears of War logo), going to Jaron (pictured above) and his team of signal guys in Eastern Afghanistan attached to an Army Stryker brigade.

Want to be a part of making this care package the biggest damn thing we’ve sent out to date?  Too easy.  Here are four ways you can donate:

1) Use the Chipin link on the front of Front Towards Gamer.com.  OR
2) Use the Chipin link on the front page of Operation Supply Drop.org.  OR
3) Make a Paypal donation to donations@operationsupplydrop.org.
4) If you don’t want to send cash, you can simply send your used games or gear to the following address to make the next care package:

Operation Supply Drop

You know, and even if you can’t donate, just help get the word out on Twitter, Facebook, and other various social media links!  You help out and it costs you nothing but a few seconds of your time!

Thanks everyone!
