Rumor: Trophy Support for Metal Gear Solid 4 Incoming

Rumor - Hideo Kojima says trophies are coming to Metal Gear Solid 4 in August, will US/EU gamers be capable of earning these too? Konami, Hideo Kojima, Kojima Productions, Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 4, MGS4, Playstation, Playstation 3, Trophy Support, Trophies,

Still brings a tear to my eye!

An oft-wished for Metal Gear and Playstation fanboys might be just around the corner. In an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, creator Hideo Kojima announced the 2008 title will be getting trophy support in the near future! No official date has been reveled, but a “greatest hits” version is releasing in Japan in August, so perhaps an American and European patch or release may follow thereafter.

Metal Gear Solid 4 launched in June of 2008 (happy belated 4th birthday, buddy) one month before PS3 trophies were brought into the system. For years now many players have been clamoring for trophies to be added, and it looks as though it’ll happen soon enough! Now I’m not one for trophies and achievements, so the only reason I’ll be playing MGS4 again anytime soon is enjoy a stellar game from this generation. Even if the last 90 minutes is basically one long cutscene!

Of course, that’s not all Kojima mentioned/teased though, he also said there were a few more announcements aiming towards August 30th and the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid. Could it be the long rumored and basically already announced Metal Gear Solid 5?
