PC gamers are going to be getting an opportunity to go medieval. After a successful closed beta for their upcoming title War of the Roses, Paradox Interactive has made the decision to open the beta test to the masses. As of July 5th, the beta has become open, and anyone can now sign up. War of the Roses’ story focuses on a time in history where England was at war. The two branches of the House of Plantagenet fought many bloody battles over the throne. Those branches were the Lancaster (reds) and the Yorks (whites).
War of the Roses is a multiplayer title featuring melee combat, where teams of players go head to head using the actual weapons of medieval times (1455-1485). While the focus is behind the multiplayer aspect, there is a single player game that is more designed to prepare the player for the multiplayer, including unlocking weapons and rewards to use in the multiplayer mode. Starting off as a simple squire, through experience and upgrades, you can soon turn yourself into a powerhouse on the battlefield.
