In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Tales producer Hideo Baba shared that he and Namco intend to remake older Tales games with “graphical and other improvements in order to make them more accessible and appealing.” Of course, Baba is simply referring to Japanese territories concerning the remakes, but the Tales series has always had a niche, but successful portion of the American and European markets, so it would be nice of them to share the love with us too.
Baba went on to say that they “are planning to re-release old games to other platforms in the future, because the old games have some origin and offer standard features of the Tales series.” I for one would love to play Tales of Symphonia in an updated setting, maybe even on a DS/3DS collection containing some of the earlier SNES/Super Famicom titles.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Tales team handles these possibilities, and if they even consider us as possible targets for release. Be sure to stay tuned to Front Towards Gamer as we follow the news concerning the Tales series.
