PS3 owners have another exclusive coming their way, as the acclaimed Tales series by Namco Bandai has another entry coming. Tales of Xillia will be released in 2013 in North America, and it will be an exclusive for the PS3.
“The recent success for this year’s releases of Tales of the Abyss® and Tales of Graces™ has helped make localizing Tales of Xillia for North America one of the easiest decisions we have ever made,” said Carlson Choi, VP of Marketing for Namco Bandai Games America, Inc. “The latest game in this prolific series gives gamers a brand new world and cast of characters to get lost in, along with its celebrated battle system that has yet to be rivaled by other Japanese RPGs.”
Tales of Xillia will follow the adventures of Jude Mathis, a med student in Capital City, and Milla Maxell, a mysterious woman accompanied by four unseen beings. Players will chose between the two to control and then explore the world of Rieze Maxia. The villains are the Kingdom of Rashugal, who have built a device that is draining the world of its mana. Realizing the damage it’s doing to Rieze Maxia, Jude and Milla set off to stop them and save the world.
Tales of Xillia will still use the Linear Motion Battle System, which allows for real-time movements and attacks during battles. New to Tales of Xillia is the Double Raid Linear Motion Battle System. This system allows two characters to combine their attacks to use incredible dual character attacks, meaning more strategy for every party you make.
