Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time series will be making its debut on the Nintendo 3DS and DS this October in Hey Ice King! Why’d you steal our garbage?! and the new trailer show off the long awaited gameplay.
D3Publisher and WayForward have teamed up with Pendleton Ward, the show’s creator, to make the transition from TV to games to prevent anything being lost in translation. Ward penned the game’s storyline whilst Matt Bozon (the designer) cites Zelda II: The Adventure of Link as a dominating influence in the game design. The game combines side-scrolling combat and platforming with top view segments of exploration and quest following.
The title will be released on October 23, 2012 and for Adventure Time die-hard fans, there will be a collector’s edition featuring a custom stylus cast in the image of Finn’s gold sword, a poster map of the Magical Land of Ooo, Finn & Jake’s Monster Manual art book and a steelbook package design of the Enchiridion (the ancient tome Finn obtains in the series).
