Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Game Studios Explain Why They Missed Comic-Con

Paradox Interactive, Arrowhead Game Studios, Magicka, Comic Con,

Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Games Studios (along with some of their Wizards from their game Magicka) were unfortunately able to come to this year’s Comic-Con, and for good reason. The Wizard was apparently kidnapped by evil Necromancers. No Seriously.

Paradox Interactive had this to say:

“Paradox Interactive, Arrowhead Game Studios and the colorfully robed Wizards of Magicka would like to apologize to their fans for being unable to attend this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. The Wizards found themselves unexpectedly tied up, unable to reach the convention after a run-in with some colleagues from The Other Side of the Coin, a new expansion to their award-wanting game series. Dipping into their vast reservoir of spells, the Magicka magicians got themselves stuck in the middle of an… “incident” with an overzealous member of Alucart’s necromancers. One of the Wizards managed to sneak out some video of the confrontation — be glad you’re able to attend Comic-Con, and not sitting the whole thing out like the gentleman Wizard in this footage.”

The footage is film of the Necromancer torturing the Wizard. For the movie buffs out there, the whole thing is actually a homage to Reservoir Dogs, with the Necromancer doing the torture in a warehouse with “Stuck in the Middle with You” playing in the background.

The footage is also an ad for The Other Side of The Coin, the latest Expansion for Magicka that allows you to play as the bad guys. Play as Alucart the Vampire and his army of Necromancers as you get to show those goody-goody Wizards some real magic. The Other Side of the Coin is available everywhere Magicka is, including Steam and GamersGate. No word yet as to the status of the kidnapped Wizard, but we here at Front Towards Gamer update you as soon as we know.
