It appears that The Witcher series of games has hit a significant milestone in sales. The developer for The Witcher titles, CD Project RED has announced that the franchise has sold over 4 million copies of both game combined. This includes the release of the titles over multiple platforms.
Head of CD Projekt RED, Adam Badowksi had the following to say about reaching this tremendous mark:
“I’m still amazed with the result we have achieved with The Witcher franchise. Many gamers on many platforms have been drawn to the vivid and complex world we have created. In the gaming world summer means a lot of great, hot deals. So if you still don’t own the game look out for both retail and digital special offers. ‘The Witcher’ and ‘The Witcher 2′ are great, robust RPGs, that every true gamer should own.”
This won’t be the end of the sales growth of the titles either. With The Witcher and The Witcher 2 being available for discount during the Steam summer sale, the numbers will surely go up a few units. The Witcher 2 will also be headed to Japan and to Mac users later this year as well.
