Final Fantasy Versus XIII Cancellation Denied

FF Versus XIII, FF XIII, Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy XV, Square Enix, tetsuya nomura

Last week I reported, via Kotaku, that Final Fantasy Versus XIII was indeed cancelled. Well luckily for me, and those that shared my disappointment, Yoichi Wada has come forward and let it be known that is not the case. Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still in production!

In fact, Wada said “the quality of the cityscape demonstrated during the presentation could make you lose your footing.” As weeaboos around the world breathe a sigh of relief, Wada also mentioned Versus XIII‘s sister project Final Fantasy Type-0 (which along with FF XIII form the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology) was also not cancelled as once rumored. Wada doesn’t reveal any information as to when we may actually get theses games, but I’ll remind you once again, Sqaure Enix are hosting a Final Fantasy 25th anniversary event in Shibuya. We can only hope they reveal more there or at TGS that same month!

It’s nice to see a company come forward squash rumors, although for some, it might be a bit too late. Of course for me, this only means that will indeed take forever for Kingdom Hearts III to be a reality!
