Earlier this year, the highly praised and influential PS2 title Grand Theft Auto III was announced and rated for release on the PlayStation Network as a PS2 classic for July 31 of this year. However, due to complications (and resulting in the dismay of many), GTA 3 will not be published on the PlayStation Network at this time.
Yesterday on the PlayStation Blog in their PlayStation Store Update post, they announced that the extremely anticipated title would not be published today and has no exact date when GTA 3 will become available.
The note on the PlayStation Blog post reads as follows:
Note: Due to an unforeseen complication, the Grand Theft Auto III PS2 Classic is not publishing with today’s Store post. We will update you when a new release date has been identified. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Hopefully these “complications” will be fixed quickly so that fans of this well received title can enjoy it once again.
