Microsoft Space Bucks Here to Stay

The xbox live logo

Yesterday several avatar items for Hybrid popped up in the Xbox Avatar Marketplace with a real money price tag instead of the usual Microsoft point totals. Unfortunately Microsoft confirmed with GameIndustry.biz that this was a display glitch and not a signal of moving towards a real money system and the glitch is in the process of being fixed.

I don’t know about you, but I personally loath the current space buck system and much prefer the real money system that both Sony and Nintendo use. For some strange reason I’m stuck with a balance of 36 Microsoft Points in my account with no way of spending such a small and strange amount. Do you prefer simply paying with real money? Sound off and let us know in the comments!

I much prefer the “space buck” as you put it. I don’t have to have a credit card attached to my account, I can buy points cards from vendors sometimes on sales, and they work well as rewards (i.e. Xbox Live Rewards, Bing Rewards, etc.) Not sure how you ended up with 36 MS Points but I am sure the real world value of 36 MS Points is not going to break you by being tied up, after all its only about $0.45. I’ll give you two quarters if it will make you feel better.
