New Gameplay Trailer for Pid

Article by FTG Contributor Robert Beach

Pid, the 2D puzzle/platformer, still has no release date, price, or online vendor, but how can you not get excited about when to play the darn thing? To quench the thirst, a recent trailer shows more gameplay and an original cartoon cutscene reminiscent of the art style of Monty Python. In it features a little bit of the background for the Crook (Boss) and his ensuing battle against the boy.

“Getting up the courage to hold-up a passerby, The Crook attempts to get the best of Kurt. What he doesn’t know is that Kurt (The Boy Protagonist) is cleverer than he appears.”

As excited as I am for another 2D adventure game, I can’t help but fear showing off too much can be detrimental to the enjoyment of the game. When you are shown how to beat the boss, it takes away a lot of the exhilarating feeling of accomplishment. It’s exactly like a comedy blurting out all of the funny lines in one trailer, while the whimsical song of Russian Dance plays in the background. Pessimistic views aside, Might & Delight have graced this genre before with Bionic Commando Rearmed!
