In a little more than 24 hours, Gamescom will be in full swing in Cologne, Germany. For those who don’t know, Gamescom is the biggest video game conference in the world, even bigger than E3. While you can definitely count on Front Towards Gamer for all the big stories, I thought I’d let you guys know what to expect, thanks to IGN.
First, we’re expecting at least 3 games to be announced between two major companies. We shouldn’t expect anything new as for as new or next gen consoles go, but what else is new? Here are the four major conferences.
Date: August 14, 2012
Time: Germany – 11am
UK – 10am
US – 1am (PT)
Australia – 7pm
What to Expect: Lots of Resident Evil 6 and Lost Planet 3 will be shown. Also, we’ve been told to expect a major announcement, probably a new title.

UK – 3pm
US – 6am (PT)
Aus – 12pm
What to Expect: Focus on popular European Games like FIFA. Also expect more from Medal of Honor, SimCity, Need for Speed, and Crysis 3.
Date: August 14, 2012

UK – 6pm
US – 10am (PT)
Aus – 3pm (on 8/15)
What to Expect: Once again, we shouldn’t expect anything about any new consoles, PS3 or otherwise. However, we will be getting two new titles announced, and hopefully some Vita games.

Time: Germany – 3pm
UK – 2pm
US – 5am (PT)

What to Expect: A focus on free-to-play games and E-Sports. Unfortunately, we shouldn’t expect more on the recently announced Watch Dogs.
After the conference, the floor opens up to games. Now with Microsoft, Nintendo, THQ, and Sega all passing on Gamescom this year, the show belongs to Sony and all other 3rd party developers. Here’s a list of some of the big games to expect.

- Crysis 3
- Dust 514
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
- God of War: Ascension
- Simcity
- Borderlands 2
