Capcom Announces Remember Me

With Gamescom well underway in Germany, and a slew of predictions already made, Capcom has made their presence ever so clear with Remember Me. Capcom has definitely been pushing newer properties like Dragon’s Dogma and Asura’s Wrath, and Remember Me is the next new title on that list. The game is a futuristic, stealthy sci-fi game set in 2084, and it seems like Inception and Bungie West’s ONI, with a tinge of Capcom’s own Ghost Trick. Developed by France based Dontnod Entertainment, the game definitely raises a few eyebrows.

The game features Nilin, a “memory hunter” in a futuristic Paris, France. This future doesn’t have much in terms of privacy, as information stored in memory can be traded, bought, and sold. Nilin was similar to a courier, who had a knack for this sort of job. Along with fighting systems and martial arts at your disposal, you can wipe the memory of your opponent. However, the tables get turned on you, and you have to figure out what happened when your own memory gets wiped.

The premise isn’t the most original of concepts, but the trailer definitely makes me want to keep an eye on this game as Capcom continues to try other things than fighting games. The more the game takes from the likes of Mirror’s Edge and ONI, the better, as these sorts of games always seem to get glossed over compared to other AAA games. Remember Me releases May 2013 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
