The Killzone franchise is making its way onto the PS Vita and developer Gurrilla Games has released a trailer for the upcoming title, premiering earlier at Gamescon. Killzone: Mercenary will bring the first-person shooting series to Sony’s handheld using the same engine used for Killzone 3, but with improved twin-stick functionality. This entry will also take advantage of touch functionality to fully utilize the PS Vita.
As a mercenary, you will be playing both sides of the series’ conflict between the ISA and Helghast, taking on missions only fit for a mercenary of your type. This, as Gurrilla Games managing director Herman Hulst says, gives gamers a “fresh perspective” on the ongoing conflict they have experienced in previous games.
No solid date for release has been announced but Gurrilla Games is shooting for a 2013 release.
