Hawken Movie Adaption Revealed New Director

HawkenArticles by FTG Contributor Robert Beach

The Free to Play Mech combat game of Hawken is not even close to its December 12th release, but movie rights to the independent studio’s game are already gobbled up. The unknown director at the helm of the movie adaptation is the co-director of the 2012 military fist bumping, terrorist killing Navy SEALs film of Act of Valor (Note: description based on trailers). Scott Waugh has been known mainly for stunts of Spider-Man and some semi popular movies like The One, The Italian Job, xXx, Bad Boys II and about 30 others.

The movie plot is based around a devastating virus covering the industrialized planet surface and follows two pilots from separate clans pitted against each other. A story with no clear antagonist in the story for the audience to shake fists at sounds intriguing enough to give a gander at. Personally, I’m just glad it’s not the man infamously crapping out bad movies to mediocre games, thanks Mr. Boll!

What the actually game is about is controlling giant Mechs via first person set mainly for deathmatch, Horde and various yet to be announced modes. The two rivaled clans mentioned in the movie plot are not that far from the source, as it is centered on hunting for resources in a dystopian human-colonized planet. This PC FTP isn’t one to pass up; Hawken was hailed and praised by numerous critics at E3. Capturing the feel of a giant metal suit and made teamwork king. Just look below at the pretty Cockpit!
