Shanghai Six sits down with a guy that manages to have impressed Trent Reznor with his musical ability, chiptune artist Inverse Phase. A year ago, he had a successful Kickstarter campaign (you know, before it was cool) to create a tribute album to Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine called Pretty Eight Machine that kind of set the internet a-blaze. Shanghai talks with him about how a guy with little to no musical ability of his own spent 20 years making music with Nintendos and Sega Genesis, and the bizarre fact that Inverse Phase just happens to be the guy who owns the license for a small thing called MAGFest (yes, the largest gaming music festival out there).
