Painkiller: Hell and Damnation Beta Registration Opens to Public

Article by FTG Contributor ghost_117.

Beta testing is a big thing with companies nowadays because it gives us a chance to try out a game before it hits shelves and gives developers a chance to tweak things that may not have been caught during a testing session. Now, Nordic Games and The Farm 51 have jumped on to doing beta testing with their newest iteration of the Painkiller series.

You will be able to beta test the new horror FPS subtitled Hell & Damnation in a small, limited-access closed beta. Registration has been opened up over at the Painkiller website, and a few lucky people might have a chance to snag one of the sought-after keys. Testing will continue up until release day and will give a good long demo of the game while being able to give feedback to the developers.

“We are very excited to open the beta for selected users and are looking forward to the feedback sessions in our forum,” says Reinhard Pollice, Business and Product Development, Nordic Games. “The feedback from fans that played the original Painkiller is extremely important to us. It will give us a chance to interact with the community, as well as offering them exclusivity of being the first to play the game.”

The new Painkiller beta will run on top of Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 and will retain the quick-paced and frenzied gameplay of the original. In the beta, you will be able to try out five modes, including Single Player, Network Co-op, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch. The beta will also have feedback integration, where at the push of a button, you will be connected to the forums to leave any notes or glitches found.

Beta keys can be acquired from various media outlets, Facebook, and the Painkiller forums in the following weeks.
