War of the Roses Tourney Footage and New Ranged Units

Article by FTG Contributor ghost_117

Paradox Interactive (of Magicka and Mount & Blade fame) have come up with a new challenger for the online multiplayer community and have already had tournaments for the currently under-development game. War of the Roses is a melee heavy multiplayer game set in medieval England, between 1455 -1485, and is based on the series of dynastic civil wars fought between the houses of Lancaster and York. Given that time period, may players will have the chance to go head to head against each other, wielding maces, swords, daggers, and shields in real-time combat. But now, Paradox has lifted the veil on the newest addition to the game, ranged units. These will include archers and crossbow wielders and may lead the game to adopt a first-person view along with the current third person perspective.

Along with the new ranged units, Paradox recently had a tournament using the beta version of War of the Roses down in San Francisco, which is currently visible on Paradox’s TwitchTV account, showing how hard the Twitch team had to play to earn their victory.

Sign-ups are currently still on going over at War of the Roses official website and you can also visit Paradox Interactive’s Twitter feed for more info.
