Winner – Rayman Legends
Nowadays it’s quite rare to find a game that’s just plain fun to play and puts a ridiculous smile on your face. Especially for a platformer. However, Rayman Legends just does that. Rayman Origins was an amazing game and one of the best platformers I’ve played in a very very long time. It didn’t get nearly as much hype, recognition, or sales as it deserved. Ubisoft did a brilliant job with the game, but not so much with the marketing. When I played Rayman Legends it was the same peppy, upbeat, and happy game Origins was except much more vibrant and creative. As mentioned in the hands-on article there was one particular level in the demo that was timed to music which was brilliant and I have a feeling this game will be full of super fun segments like that.
One thing to be wary of is that this game is no easy feat, Origins was a tough platformer and even with a co-op buddy Legends isn’t any easier. This isn’t exactly for first time gamers, but old school platformer fans will absolutely adore it. It’s all the difficulty of Super Mario Bros. 3 with its amazing hand drawn look and beautifully fitting orchestral score. This game can bring back real platformers and not super child-friendly games that only last a few short hours, by which I mean Super Mario 3D Land. All this and more is why Rayman Legends undoubtedly deserves this award.

This game deserves so much more praise than it’s getting so tell your friends! Tell the Internet! And buy a copy because you will not be disappointed.
