2K Sports announced that NBA 2K13 will feature the 1992 USA men’s Olympic basketball team, dubbed “the Dream Team”, as well as the 2012 USA men’s team.
Both gold-medal winners consisted of the best players of their respective eras. Fans frequently speculate and debate about who would win between Lebron James and Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant and Clyde Drexler, and so on. This was an idea that Executive Producer Jay-Z (you know, the rapper) wanted to capture. He says, “In NBA 2K13, we’re giving fans the opportunity to play as two of the best teams ever assembled in sporting history, literally putting the debate right into their hands.”
Kevin Durant went on to say, “Like everybody, I can’t wait to see how our squad stacks up against the 1992 team in NBA 2K13.”
The game will again be developed by Visual Concepts, the studio that has been developing the franchise since before this generation of consoles began. 2K will release the game Oct. 2, 2012 in North America and Oct 5th in Europe on PC, PlayStation Portable, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. The Wii U version will be released during the holiday season, according to 2K.
