The PC had a surprisingly large presence at this year’s Gamescom, with titles such as Shootmania, Hawken, Firefall, Planetside 2, End of Nations – the list goes on and on. Narrowing down the list to just the best one was no easy task, and blood and sweat were spilled.
In the end, the winner of Front Towards Gamer’s Best PC Exclusive of Gamescom 2012 is…
Firefall !
Yes, it’s been in development for years, but it shows. Whilst lots of PC games showed off impressive graphics and ambitious goals, you can see that Firefall has been worked on the longest, offering a full MMO experience at no price. A dynamic, ever-expanding world, balanced leveling system, an e-sports focus – this game has it all.
We were impressed by what the game currently offers, as well as its more long term plans for the future. It’s not only shaping up to be one of the best F2P MMOs, but one of the best PC titles of the year.
PC owners will have a blast this year, as Firefall is looking to open its doors to the public with an open beta in the next few months.
Honorable Mention:
Hawken.
An impressive game considering its young age and small development team, Hawken was very close to winning this grand prize, but only fell short in the amount of variety shown at the show. Expect a lot of PC players to jump into this one when it launches on December 12.
