Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V week-long screenshot blowout has finally reached its end. Following Monday’s “Transport” and Wednesday’s “Leisure” posts on the publisher’s official website, Friday’s “Business” post shows off four new images that will have to hold us over for “a few weeks or so,” according to the blog post. While our bodies quiver in anticipation, let’s get down to the nitty gritty and take a look at the new screens below:
Hey, that’s more like it! The screens released earlier in the week were pretty and all, but they didn’t portray any of the crime-driven antics that the series has built itself upon. Here we see a hooligan climbing the back of a car transport, undeterred by the sight of the police. Hooligan, I say!
More importantly, though: what’s the deal with the transport’s axles? Someone’s not passing their next DOT inspection!
Aaaand we’re bringing it back down a few pegs. We already know that we’ll be able to pilot planes, (although this prop plane isn’t in any way as rad as the fighter jet we saw earlier) and we already know that there will be, um, rivers.
We’re not sure why this image was bunched in with the others, either. I mean, the water’s impressive, I guess. Moving on!
Back to debauchery! There are more than a few police officers in pursuit of this miscreant, and one cop is even aiming a rifle from out of that helicopter. That’ll learn ya to put money in the parking meter!
Looking closely, you’ll see that the driver is different from the maybe-protagonist seen in the trailer and piloting the jet in Monday’s screenshot. Whether it’s evidence of multiple playable protagonists or a simple red herring remains to be seen, but it’s interesting to note nonetheless.
Finally, we have a lone gunman aiming an AK-47 at a helicopter in an industrial area near the water somewhere, and this time it’s definitely a different person. With a spotlight in his face, a laser pointed at his chest, and a significant positional disadvantage, let me be the first to say R.I.P. Mystery Gunman. You should’ve learned to pick your spots better.
And that pretty much wraps things up! What did you think of the screens Rockstar bestowed upon those awaiting GTA V‘s arrival with bated breath? Let us know!
