Whilst Gamescom was filled with great, exciting games, it still had one or two titles which were just straight-up bad. Whether it was due to bad controls, bugs, or flawed gameplay, one game stuck to our mind as the worst of the show floor. And that game is…
Resident Evil 6.
I’m not a pissed-off Resident Evil fan complaining about how much Capcom is straying from the original concept of the series. I’m not complaining about the fact that the game is closer to Gears of War or Call of Duty than Resident Evil. I’m complaining about the fact that the game is simply broken.
Aside from the over-abundance of quick-time events, nothing about the game was remotely fun or engaging. The shooting felt way too loose and inaccurate, it was really hard to tell if you were hitting an enemy or not unless you got a head shot, and the melee was straight-up broken.
If Resident Evil 6 decided to go for a more action-oriented focus, I would have had no problem with it, but the fact they didn’t even get that right gives this title little chance to succeed.
