Prepare thyself for some rip roaring multiplayer on the PC! The second character class showcase is out for Primal Carnage, and in the two minute 30 second trailer we see the Trapper and the Raptor. Two of the 10 playable classes to fight a death match between dinosaurs and humans. A quick run-down on both classes are below.
The Raptor, the pack hunter, the most mischievous man eater with its size and speed (not surprising) is very similar to Valve’s ravenous hooded zombie. Carefully platforming the environment to leap from the high heights and pounce on their prey, the Raptors aren’t menacing tanks, nor airborne scouts scoping out targets, but are the ones seen creating a shock and awe spectacle. The counter to this “hunter” is the trapper.
The Trapper, one of the more unique mercenaries to choose from, is a support class for the humans. The trapper does exactly what you expect, captures and incapacitates dinos, offering easy kills for squad mates. He wields a net gun and two high powered pistols as secondary weapons. In cases of T-Rexes, ensnaring its mouth shut just isn’t enough to slow it down.
It’s easy to revert to a simple explanation of “it’s Left 4 Dead meets dinosaurs.” No actually. Where Valve has you progressing through an environment with palette swap characters and NPC zombies, Primal Carnage has varied classes in a makeshift player vs player battle arena. See for yourself in the trailer below.
