We here at Front Towards Gamer are addicted to an iOS game. Yes, there is a game strong enough to bring an entire site together to battle each other in the throws of addiction. What game can possibly bring this many people together in a friendly, competitive environment? Well, that game is Robot Entertainment’s Hero Academy! To top off the fact that you can play it anywhere using your iPhone or iPod, Robot Entertainment has just released a version of the game for PC on Steam. This has not helped our productivity in any way, shape or form, but it is tremendously fun. We loved it so much we gave the Steam version an 8 and the iOS version an 8.5. The most interesting part is that the Steam and iOS versions are compatible and games from one platform can be continued to the other.
The game is an asynchronous chess style, turn based strategy game where the object is to either kill and “stomp” the other player’s characters or destroy their crystal(s). Sounds simple enough right? Well with 5 different teams for you and your opponent to choose from, your strategy will constantly be changing. The fields all play drastically different as well. Depending on where you are spawned you may have up to 3 crystals to attack/defend. Add in power up tiles and you have a plenty of different ways a match can turn out. The copies we are giving away come with the Team Fortress 2 team and the Council; with the Tribe, Dark Elves and Dwarves as DLC teams you can purchase later. Though you have to buy them later, they greatly expand on your play experience and are worth the investment.
