Gearbox Leaves Behind Brothers in Arms and Opts for Furious 4

Brothers in Arms, Brothers in Arms: Furious 4, Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway, Gearbox Software, PAX Prime, Randy Pitchford

At last years E3 we got a glimpse at Gearbox’s next entry into the Brothers in Arms series,  Brothers in Arms: Furious 4. Well, during Gearbox’s panel at PAX Prime the developer announced that the game will no longer be a part of the Brothers in Arms series and will be its own new IP. What caused the rebranding? A lack of ideas caused numerous changes to the game until it had strayed so far from what it started as that it was hard to relate it to the original franchise.

The new game will feature a Borderlands style blend of genres, though they haven’t mentioned what those genres will be. “Our Pokemon has evolved, it has different powers” Randy Pitchford told Kotaku. While a release date hasn’t been announced, we can expect to hear more on the game during the Gearbox Community day on September 15th.
