Polygon Is (Apparently) Launching on October 25

logo, launch

For those out of the loop, Vox Media will be launching Polygon, a new video game website, later this year. If a certain video is to be believed, we now know the actual date the site will go live.

The video in question comes from Polygon’s Press Reset series. This web series is telling the tale – in somewhat real time – of Polygon’s formation. The second episode deals with the coding and programming of the site. At the 7:14 mark, Justin Glow, Senior Product Manager for Polygon, mentions the launch date, but it’s bleeped pretty thoroughly and is hard to pick out. Luckily, at the 7:24 mark, Jim Bankoff, President and CEO of Vox Media, states the launch date several times. Though it’s bleeped, Bankoff really seems to be trying to “overpower” the censor and announce the date on purpose.

Take a look at the video and hear for yourself:

There you have it: Polygon will launch on October 25. It should be noted that this is the company date (meaning not public), but the full launch should be expected soon after.
