It seems like all of the rumors were true, and Sony will be coming out with a new, slimmer version of the PS3. It’s coming out pretty soon.
Announced at Tokyo Game Show, the new PS3 model is smaller than original units by 50 percent, and smaller than the current slim models by 25 percent. The hard drive space is bigger than the current slim model, using a scale of 250 GB to 500 GB, as apposed to the 160 GB to 320 GB differential between the units currently. The 250 GB PS3 will be available on September 25th for $269.99, and will be a part of a bundle that will include a Game of the Year edition of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and a voucher for Dust 514. A standalone copy of the Game of the Year edition of Uncharted 3 will also be available on the 25th, for the price of 39.99, which includes 12 new multiplayer maps, 40 multiplayer skins, Fort Co-Op Adventure, and Shade Survival Mode.
The 500 GB PS3 will release on October 30th for $299.99 and will bundled with Assassin’s Creed III.
With the new models tied in with games that a lot of people are anticipating, it will be interesting to see how Sony will do this holiday season.
