Mass Effect Trilogy Announced, Headed To PS3, 360, PC

It’s pretty much expected now that the third game in the epic Mass Effect franchise has dropped, a collection of sorts would come out. BioWare is doing exactly this, five years to the day that the original Mass Effect launched. But, the trilogy is heading to PlayStation 3, meaning that for the first time, PlayStation players can get their hands on the original that started it all.

The collection, consisting of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, simply enough. Whether or not DLC will come with the collection is unsure, but the $60 price is spot on, and heads to Xbox 360 and PC on November 6, while the PS3 can expect it at a “later” date.

BioWare has also announced that the original Mass Effect will be available to download via the PlayStation Network, but the price is unknown. $20 seems like a safe bet. This is great news for fans of the series, because you never really get the full experience of Mass Effect without playing all of the games. No report on whether or not we’ll see this hit the WiiU, as that console is set to *just* get Mass Effect 3 at the WiiU launch.
