Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale — Full Roster Revealed

“We’re in!”

Yep, every character for Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale has been shown.  Sid Shuman, PlayStation Blog senior social media specialist, tweeted the announcement just yesterday. This was in response to another Twitter user asking about final character inclusion. Shuman’s reply? “We have revealed the full launch lineup of characters.”

So who’s in Playstation All-Stars? The list is as follows:

  • Big Daddy (Bioshock)
  • Cole MacGrath (Infamous)
  • Evil Cole MacGrath (Infamous)
  • Colonel Radec (Killzone)
  • Dante (Devil May Cry)
  • Fat Princess (Fat Princess)
  • Heihachi Mishima (Tekken)
  • Jak and Daxter (Jak & Daxter)
  • Kratos (God of War)
  • Nariko (Heavenly Sword)
  • Nathan Drake (Uncharted)
  • PaRappa (PaRappa the Rapper)
  • Raiden (Metal Gear Solid)
  • Ratchet and Clank (Ratchet & Clank)
  • Sackboy (LittleBig Planet)
  • Sir Daniel Fortesque (MediEvil)
  • Sly (Sly Cooper)
  • Spike (Ape Escape)
  • Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal)
  • Toro (Together Everywhere!)

As we’ve pointed out in the past, including both Cole and Evil Cole is wasteful, especially since the Playstation All-Stars roster has so much potential. The list is slightly disappointing, as the rumored Kate (Gravity Rush) and Snake (Metal Gear Solid) aren’t present, and the Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and Final Fantasy series are additionally absent. Still, it’s worth noting that these are all “launch characters.” More are possible with DLC.

Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale hits the PS3 and Vita on November 20 in North America, so prepare to battle. We’ll be ready.

So Sony Smash Bros. is already starting to disappoint people, who would of thought?

I wouldn’t call it just yet, but the scales are starting to tip.

I am not saying it is dead in the water, but when you start disappointing fans by short changing them with characters and maybe giving them some with paid DLC then you aren’t off to a good start.

Doesn’t anyone else find it strange that Superbot is not confirming or denying this. If it was the final roster then why keep quiet about it? Superbot already said they knew what the final roster was. So why when they were finished they didn’t make it official? Why leave it to a single sentence said by someone else responding to a single person with no explanation or conformation. If it is official then confirm it. Post it on you website or write it officially on the blog. But strangely nothing from anyone else. Sid didn’t even repeat what he said or confirm that it is true but instead we haven’t heard anything else from him either on the subject. so until I hear an explanation I will keep my doubts. Something is not right about this and only the idiots can’t see it. That being said twenty characters doesn’t change what content the game offers. I have played great fighting games with equal or even less charcters.

Number of characters isn’t an issue here – it’s the characters themselves. I can’t repeat enough how much of a waste it is to have 10% of the roster be Cole.
