Guild Wars 2

Or you could just walk around.

Article by FTG Contributor Cole Frazier

The holidays come and go every year and in less than a week we will all be celebrating the darkest of them all, Halloween.  So to kick the holiday off early Guild Wars 2 creators NC SOFT and ArenaNet released their first Act of four yesterday, leading up to the final Act on Halloween.  Guild Wars 2‘s first Act, released on the 22nd, gave players new quests and adventures, new costumes for their characters, and for those seeking the unknown, the mysterious wooden doors that have popped up all throughout Tyria. Along with the new content, Guild Wars 2 players have been introduced to rumors of a coming storm, the energies arising from the autumn moon are causing concern amongst the citizens and many think that it will bring about the second coming of the 500 year old Krytan King who is said to roam the land on the day of Halloween.

Guild Wars 2 lore says The Mad King had once ruled over the land of Tyria with an iron fist, but his citizens were finally able to over throw him, chopping his body into pieces and throwing his spirit into the underworld.  Since then the King has only been spotted once, 250 years ago. But with whispers of strange aura surrounding the land, many wonder if the spreading rumors about the Mad King are true.

No details have been given as to what Guild Wars 2‘s Acts Two-Four will include, but with Act Two only three days away and Three and Four close behind, it’s only a matter of time before their secrets are uncovered.

  • Act 2 releases October 26th
  • Act 3 releases October 28th
  • Act 4 releases October 31st (Halloween)

Is anyone excited for these Guild Wars 2 updates to come or is this just another piece of added in game fluff?
