Battlefield 4 Shows Off 17 Minutes of New Campaign Gameplay

EA and DICE have shown off 17 minutes of new Battlefield 4 footage in a new gameplay video and holy shit does it look good. The gameplay is shown running off a high end PC but that doesn’t diminish the fact that their new Frostbite 3 engine is a pretty looking piece of tech. The faces, the explosions, the water, the destruction physics, it’s a marvel to watch and it’s release on current gen consoles has me hoping Battlefield 4 will look almost as good on them.

The gameplay segment named ‘Fishing in Baku’ follows protagonist Rooker, who we’ll be playing as, and 3 other soldiers trying to get through a mission alive and safely deliver some intel back to base. Needless to say not everything goes to plan and shit hits the fan. The gameplay shows off what Battlefield 4‘s new Frostbite 3 engine has to offer with amazingly detailed facial animations that leave any trace of the uncanny valley behind, glorious sound design that the Battlefield franchise has always graced us with, and spectacular destruction physics. Towards the end of the footage the destruction physics are in full effect and you’ll really witness what Frostbite 3 has to offer.

Battlefield 3 got some flak for it’s dull campaign and definitely didn’t have me interested but if this gameplay clip is anything to go by, Battlefield 4 is going to ramp it up and give gamers an FPS story that’ll have us on the edge of our seats.

Well I’ll stop rambling on and leave you to actually watch it (watch it in 1080p if you can, it’s gorgeous):
