Biography

Tom "Arcion" Duer is a 36 year old gamer living in Houston, Texas. From the moment he hooked up his Commodore 64 to the TV and started playing Zork he was hooked on RPGs. At 12 he was eaten by a Grue and spit back out because the Grue is a health nut and found that Tom was full of gristle and had no nutritional value. His appreciation for games grew as did he until Tom realized he likes most genres. He is versed in most Pen and Paper RPGs and runs a Dungeons and Dragons campaign every Friday. As a slave to pop culture he can write about anything from Arkham Asylum to Zhu Zhu Pets. He is currently an editor and writer for fronttowardsgamer.com.

UNICO Denies Italians Were in Mafia, Demand Take-Two Change History

Take-Two Interactive recently received a letter from UNICO National, an Italian-American service organization, demanding that the publisher delay Mafia II’s release until they are able to take out all references to Italians and Italian-Americans. All Your Base Belongs to Granny

There is a new study out by comScore that looks at females and their habits pertaining to the Internet and a surprising trend has been revealed. Females over 55 spend as much or more time gaming than the typical male demographic, you know, the ones that tend to kick your butt on XBL. Find out what this means by clicking.

Darkness Reigned In Kaneohe

Darkness reigned in Kaneohe, Hawaii when two masked thugs tried to rob an internet gamers center. Thankfully a handful of heroes, who have read too many Batman comics thwarted the evil plan to steal a few bucks and maybe some Yoohoo. Want to read more? Click the link.

Then 50% of Online Gamers Must be Stupid

I would like to think that Michael Pachter, the infamous Wedbush analyst, is wrong when he says that “(they) expect that somewhere around half of the current 15 million online game players to pay something for premium content,” that’s right 50% of the online gamers would pay for multiplayer. In my book that makes 50% of us gamers stupid. Don’t think so? Click and comment.

Why Star Wars: The Old Republic Just Got…a) Better or b) Worse

Okay, I’ll admit that I’m a little late to the party, but like my old Uncle Fred used to say, “Better late to the party then early to me kicking your @ss.” God, I loved that man. Recently, we just learned that Star Wars: The Old Republic (TOR) will be including “space combat” at release. The news released at Comic-con this month reminded me of a rant that’s been boiling up inside me like free tacos served at the strip club buffet. Read by clicking on the link or slipping a ten into my g-string.

New Study Justifies My Existence: Reviews Work

Beware: Kinect is Watching You

In a world where privacy rights are becoming a thing of the past, one might want to think twice about hooking “Big Brother” up in your living room. It seems to me that the one question that should be on everyone’s mind should be how Microsoft is going to guarantee that this technology is not going to lead to some black hat hacker looking into our homes or some Microsoft-core crony peaking into your game room. How much of your privacy are you willing to give up?
