Call of Juarez Gunslinger Review (XBLA)

Last year’s disastrous Call of Juarez: The Cartel had some decent ideas, but was a technical train wreck that appeared to doom the franchise into oblivion.  With the surprise announcement of Call of Juarez Gunslinger coming as a downloadable game to Xbox Live Arcade with no fanfare, most people would have been right to …

Age of Empires II: HD Edition Review (PC)

Age of Empires II is one of the most influential and well-respected RTS’s ever made, and i still has a fairly active community to this day. Not bad for a game that came out in 1999. Having spent countless hours as a kid playing Age of Empires II and its expansion, The Conquerors, this game …

Star Command Review (iOS)

Following last year’s game-of-the-year winning brilliant space “rogue-like” FTL (Faster Than Light), it was only a matter of time before people started coming up with FTL clones and wannabe titles for systems.  The two-man team over at WarBalloon Games made a hell of a stab at it with their Kickstarter game, Star Command, for Apple …

Sorcery!: Review (iOS)

In the mid-80s, Steve Jackson released an adventure book series titled Sorcery!. It was basically Choose Your Own Adventure, but with a focus on exploration and combat over ridiculous death scenarios (I’m looking at you, Daredevil Park). Now, UK studio inkle has brought this series to iOS devices. Guess what? It’s a perfect fit.

Metro: Last Light : Review (PC)

It’s exhilarating when a game can pull you entirely into its world. Sparking emotions, creating connections with the characters, and putting you into the shoes of life or death scenarios, is something that we crave as gamers. However, it seems that we seldom get that experience. If it isn’t some sort of mechanic or …

Badland: Review (iOS)

Badland is a nifty iOS title developed by Frogmind. It’s based on the concept of games like Copter, where tapping and holding the screen moves your character up, and letting go causes their descent. Badland adds a few more elements into the mix to vary the gameplay, and it’s a game that’s perfectly …

Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel: Review (Xbox 360)

I have personally always enjoyed the Army of Two series, despite the media backlash the original got over too much “grab ass” between main character mercenaries-for-hire Salem and Rios fist bumping and high-fiving while committing genocide on a grand scale. A lot has changed since the original Army of Two, but this latest iteration, Army …

Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles: Review (iOS)

If you haven’t had enough of the Lego games yet (or Lego Star Wars games, for that matter), then Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles is here for you. This marks the brick-building series’ debut on iOS devices, and, to start with a compliment, it’s perfectly suited to them. That being said, this is …

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut: Review (PS3)

In early 2010, Xbox 360 gamers were treated to Deadly Premonition, a game that was as divisive as it was bizarre. Now, thanks to Rising Star Games, US and EU PS3 gamers can experience Deadly Premonition in its full version. Director Swery65 and his team have delved back into the murder-mystery surrounding the town …

Signal Ops: Review (PC)

I am a huge fan of all things “stealth game” related, so when we received a review code for Signal Ops from Space Bullet Dynamics Corporation, I was somewhat excited.  Having come down from the high of Dishonored’s marvelous downloadable content (The Knife of Dunwall) and still pining for some downloadable content for …
