The Summer Games

Postby Iyield2no1 » Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:58 pm

No I'm not talking about the London Summer games.

What am talking about is the Summer Games that S6 came up with while in his active duty time over at Capital City. Though I know things are busy at the site now ( with 2 year anniversary coming up ). I wanted to get it out to the community & see what people thought of doing this.

I've been kicking some thoughts around in my head for awhile now. I had even started a Thread over at BRB & Esmerelda was getting a lot of chatter about doing it. Since she has moved on, I thought we could take the front runner position again. Maybe get a few websites behind. I say this for a couple of reasons.
#1. to drum up more people to the site & more participants.

#2. it would be easier to get more prizes ( & better prizes )
this way no one has to pony up for prizes.

So what I'm getting at is what are peoples though on this?

* Those of us who were in the first incarnation of the Summer Games have any ideas, worries, or ideas on the next runnning of the games?

This is the place to talk about it.

Yes, I'm stoked about the idea; it'll give us all something to do over the summer drought, especially now that BRB lost Esme to organize on their end.

Keep uon us about this and we'll hammer something out.

Should I start a new thread for game ideas for the Summer Games, or just keep it in here?

What we'll need is a list of Multi-Platform games to be played on both 360 & PS3. Then we will need a few Exclusives.

How long does the community want the Summer Games to last?

Early game ideas

Mulit-Platform : Gotham City Impostors, BF3, MW ( Take your pick installment ), Burnout Paradise, Red Dead Redemption,

PS3 : Uncharted 2/3, Starhawk, Warhawk, Fat Princess,

360 : Gears of War ( Pick your installment ), HALO ( pick your installment )

This is just some early ideas. If it is deemed that I make another Thread for the games suggestions then I will do so.

Sounds like an idea. I'm sure we can make an online Omegathon (PAX Style) and have it out. Could be fun. Either have it be individual, or like how Countries have their peeps for specific events, Websites could have representatives for the competitive matches?

Seeing as how college gets done in early May and doesnt start up again until around mid August, I would say start at the beginning of June then go to maybe Labor Day

Sounds like an interesting idea. I wouldn't be opposed to doing this.

Games I might add to Iyield's list would be Left 4 Dead 2, Need for Speed, Street Fighter/Marvel vs. Capcom, and maybe even Quake.

Are you also suggesting an in-person meet up as well? Summer seems like a good a time as any for something like that.

Didn't you suggest the very same on the last forums? Not accusing, just want to make sure I'm not imagining things.
Anyways, yes, this is an awesome idea, do it do it do it
